Beryldean Parker Winter, 77, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
She was born on December 14, 1939 in Savannah, GA, daughter of the late Dorothy Baskin Parker and the late Arthur Dean Parker.
Beryldean grew up in Riverland Terrace on James Island. She was a graduating member of the first class at James Island High School in 1957, where she played volleyball. She remained close to some of her classmates throughout her life. She built the cargo doors on Lockheed C-130s, and later supervised autoclave operations in Charleston. She was also a dental assistant in the 1960’s, working for Drs Moore and Logothetis on James Island. She also lived in Orlando, FL for a few years, managing a radiator warehouse.
Beryldean was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, and previously James Island Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, reading and spending time on her swing in her garden. Her family will remember her as an independent and passionate person.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by two sisters, Beverly Belding and Joyce Carrigg.
Beryldean is survived by her daughter, Dee Bee Wright, and her husband, John, of Charleston, SC; special niece, Sherry Maull and family; and her fur baby, Tilly.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM, on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1285 Ashley Hall Road, Charleston, SC 29407. The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
