Barbara Jean Barrs

Barbara Jean Butler Barrs, 84, of Meggett, SC, passed away on June 12, 2021.

Born on December 27, 1936 in Charleston, SC, Barbara was a daughter of the late Robert Hampton Butler and Agnes Keenan Butler Grimball.

Barbara graduated from St. Paul's High School in 1957. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church on Yonges Island. Barbara enjoyed working in the yard and planting flowers. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all.

Besides her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Barrs, Sr. of 52 years; daughter, Barbara Barrs Snyder, and grandchildren: Robbie Snyder and Michelle Brown.

She is survived by her son, Claude Barrs, Jr. (Gennifer); two grandchildren: Michael Barrs and Robin Snyder; several great-grandchildren; siblings: Cherry Butler Constable, Betty Butler, Robert Butler (Rena), Jackie Butler (Frances), Mary "Chi Chi" Butler Sires Richardson and Rita Grimball Postell (Donald); and many nieces and nephews.

The memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 21, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4255 SC-165, Yonges Island, SC 29449.
