Annie Clark Chadwick, 88, of Johns Island, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
Born on May 3, 1936, in Washington, North Carolina, she was the daughter of (the late) Esther Clark (Williams) and Arthur Clark.
She graduated from Warwick High School (Newport News, Virginia) in 1954. She worked as a secretary for the Newport News Police Department where she met her husband, Charles (Chuck) Chadwick. Chuck was originally from Los Angeles, California, so they took many road trips across the country to visit family and friends. She loved road trips almost as much and she loved coffee. Her enjoyment of reading kept the house full of books. She started working at Walsingham Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1982 as the assistant to the lower school principal. She retired in 2017 as the assistant to the president of the school. During this time, she met her best friend, Sister Mary Jeanne. They would be inseparable until her passing.
In addition to her parents, Annie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Albert Chadwick; sisters, Orpah, Ruth, Agnes, and Mickey; and brothers, Byran, Arthur, Benjamin, and William.
Annie is survived by her son, Eric Chadwick, his wife Staci; sister, Katherine Mae Gray (Dallas Texas); brother in law, Lyman Gray, their son Brad Gray, his wife Laura and their 3 daughters; brother-in-law Lonnie Roberts, (Phoenix, Arizona); sister, Mary Ellen Long (Salt Lake City, Utah) her daughter and grand-daughter; and nephew, David Jones, and his 2 children, (Memphis, Tennessee).
A memorial service will be held on January 18, 2025, at 11:00, am at Walsingham Academy, 1100 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg, VA, 23185.
