Anne Keirn Spivey, 77 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
Born on August 25, 1945 in Charleston, SC, Anne was the daughter of the late Harriett (Nigels) Keirn and Thomas Grey Keirn Jr.
Anne graduated from Murray Vocational School in 1966. She worked at Roper Hospital after graduation for 42 years until retirement. Her favorite job at Roper was working in the Marketing department where she met some of her lifelong friends. Anne had sparkling personality and a witty sense of humor. She loved to dance whether it was shagging on the old Folly Pier with her husband Leroy or later in life teaching line dancing at the Lowcountry Senior Center. Anne enjoyed entertaining at her house and was a phenomenal cook. Anne also loved bird watching, caring for wildlife, and her greatest joy was spoiling her family pets.
Anne is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Thomas Grey Keirn III and husband of fifty years Leroy Spivey.
Anne is survived by her two sons, Kyle Spivey and Jason Spivey (Jaime). She also leaves behind her beloved poodle, Sophie Loren, her bird Freddie, and her grand-dog Murphy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church Pearcy Hall at 1540 Camp Road James Island on Saturday August 26th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. We encourage all to share memories of Anne as we celebrate her the day after her heavenly birthday.
