Anne Jennings McDermott went home to the loving arms of Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 20, 2020. She was born March 4, 1958 in Columbia, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Michael Joseph McDermott; parents, Lucy Anne Boulware Steele, Joseph L. Steele, Dr. James Marvin Jennings, and brother, James Marvin Jennings Jr. Surviving are sons, Michael John McDermott and Creighton Joseph McDermott, four brothers, Eric Steele, Marcus Steele, Rick Jennings and Jay Jennings and one sister, Joye Jennings Bean. Anne attended Erskine College and graduated from the University of South Carolina and the College of Charleston with a masters degree in education.
A visitation and celebration of her life will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation - West Ashley Chapel, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, South Carolina 29414. Family and friends may gather after the service at 1545 Pixley Street, Charleston.
