Anne Comar Willis

Anne Comar Willis, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina passed away at Franke at Seaside on February 14, 2025.

Born on February 6, 1932 in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Isabel McDonald Comar and Edward Comar. Anne grew up in Charleston and graduated from Bishop England High School. She was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church. Anne loved her Bridge Club group and her club Our Lady of Prompt Succor (OLOPS). 

Anne is preceded in death by the love of her life, William Sherman Willis; sisters, Isabel Hooghton, and Virginia Poe; brothers, William Comar and Edward Comar.

Anne is survived by her children, Nancy Brame (Mike), John Willis (Crystal), Mary McAbee (George), Maureen Dupree (Timothy) and Julie Willis; grandchildren, Dr. Justin McAbee (Ali), Ryan Wash (Andrea), William Willis (Gillian), Sarah Williams (Matt), Andrew Willis (Lindsey), Johnathan Wash (Brittany), Katie Walters (Trey), Anna Ednilao (Bert), and Denton DuPree (Amber). Anne was blessed with eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Franke at Seaside for Anne's loving care of nine years. Also, a special thanks to Lutheran Hospice for their support and care during her last few months.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM at McAlister-Smith ~ Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
