Ann Marie Johnson (Chavis)

Ann Marie Chavis Johnson, 76, of Wadmalaw Island, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. She was born on October 24, 1938, in Orangeburg, SC, a daughter of the late Anna Chavis. Early in Ann’s life, she was a hairdresser. She was a florist for many years. She enjoyed crafts, ceramics, doll-making, baking, gardening, canning, sewing, and playing BINGO. Ann loved cooking for her family, and made sure no one ever left her home hungry. Twenty-seven years ago, she married her soul mate and the love of her life. Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Besides her mother, Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ellen Brown and two sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Mack Johnson, of Wadamalaw Island, SC; three daughters: Pamela Mozick and her husband, Don, of Jacksonville, FL; Donna O’Kelley and her husband, Sean, of Idaho; Anita Johnson of Louisiana; two sons: Arthur England and his wife, Lynne, of Summerville, SC and Kenneth England and his wife, Teresa, of Johns Island, SC; son-in-law, Clarence Brown of Johns Island, SC; nine grandchildren: Christopher Mozick and his wife, Melissa, of Honalulu, HI; Melissa Mulkey and her husband, Ashanti, of Jacksonville, Fl; Amy Ostrom and her husband, Ken, of Moncks Corner, SC; Christina McLain and her husband, Terry, of NC; Ashley England of Charleston, SC; Dennis Brown of TX; Erin O’Kelley of TX; Devin O’Kelley of TX; and Jill Chaisson of Louisiana; eleven great-grandchildren: Yamileth Mozick, Shelynn Mozick, Keyanna Mozick, Ava Mozick, Donovan Mulkey, Amaya Mulkey, Bishop Ostrom, Emerson England, Marlee McLain, Destiny Brown and Katie Brown. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 28, 2015, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 2:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel.
