Amanda Kim Luhr, 63, of Mount Pleasant, SC, went to be with our Lord and Savior, on February 14th, 2022.
Born on March 17, 1958, in High Point, NC, Amanda was the daughter of the late Willie Rufus Watkins and Ruby Lucille (Johnson) Mitchell. Amanda was adopted and raised by the late Mark Westmoreland and his surviving wife, Frances 'Tiny' Westmoreland.
Amanda was proceeded in death by her husband, Jonathan Lee Luhr and Grandson, Bruce. She is survived by her children, Stephen Eric Cross and wife Debbie, James Christopher Scott Cross and wife Zandra, Gregory Nathaniel Cross and wife Savannah, Olivia Nanette Cross and partner Thomas Gorth, Elisabeth Ariadne Franco and husband Luis and Jonathan David Alexander Cross. Also survived by her are her grandchildren, that she loved dearly, Alex, Megan, Laura, Dane, Maya, Tyler, Gage, Autumn, Summer, Jada, Brianna, Mikeila, Aurora, Sydney, Zelda, Jason, Luis, Aiden, and Grayson. Also, great-grandchildren Britney, Layla and Everleigh.
Amanda accomplished her life goal of becoming a writer and published her book, 'A Hope Made Certain' summer of 2021. She was also an elementary and substitute teacher for many years. She acted and participated in many NarroWay live productions. Amanda was a loving, caring nurse for many decades and was still working in the health care field as a live-in-nurse until recently. Amanda was also an Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and did her own makeup tutorials. Amanda's love and passion for God is one of her most memorable qualities. She was a great teacher of His word and brought many to faith just by the way she lived her life.
The family will receive friends for a Visitation on Friday, February 25, 2022, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. The Service and Eulogy will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 25, 2022, at the same location. Then guests will gather for the burial at 1:00 PM, Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
Afterwards, please join the family for a Celebration of Life Potluck Picnic at the park across from the cemetery at 625 Harbor View Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
