Alyssa RaeLynn Postell

Alyssa RaeLynn Postell, 19 months old, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.

She was born on October 16, 2017 in Charleston, SC, daughter of Chloe Spence and Tristian Postell.

Alyssa was a happy baby who loved everyone and everything. She had a passion for music and dancing, especially to Baby Shark! She was a huge cuddle bug, and loved to give “surprise” kisses and hugs. She was a curious little one who loved to get into Mommy’s makeup. Alyssa loved to go outside with her daddy and took him tools when he was working on his car. She lit up a room as soon as she walked in. Alyssa touched the lives of so many – a beautiful, shining, happy girl, the light of her parents’ lives and the star of many hearts, and leaves us smiling through our tears.

Alyssa was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Penelope Duncan; great-grandfathers, Jim Postell and Marion Burbage and great-great-grandmother, Ruth Postell.

She will be dearly missed by her parents, Chloe and TJ; maternal grandmother, Melissa Burbage; paternal grandparents, Jamie Postell and Chris Sechrist; paternal great-grandmother, Trena Postell; maternal great-great-grandmother, Annie Burbage; paternal great-great-grandmother, Florence Melton; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 14, 2019 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home until 1:00 PM. Friends and family are encouraged to wear bright colors to celebrate Alyssa's life.

The family requests that donations of new or gently used children’s books be brought to the funeral home to be donated to a children’s charity.
