Alma Darlene Trucksis, 68, of Charleston, South Carolina died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 14, 2018.
She was born on December 17, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Frances Janet Zeigler.
Darlene was a secretary at Christ Our King-Stella Maris school and Bishop England High School for over 20 years. After retirement, she began working for Weight Watchers and most recently, C&C Meyers. She took pride in her work and formed many wonderful friendships at all locations. Darlene would have given the shirt off her back to anyone that needed it. She loved her family, friends, animals, and doing everything in her power to help someone she loved.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John Trucksis of Charleston; two sons, Jonathan (Kim) Trucksis of Tega Cay, SC, and Joseph (Jen) Trucksis of Daniel Island, SC; a daughter, Alyson Trucksis of Charleston; a granddaughter, Meghan Trucksis of Tega Cay; and two grandsons, Jacob Trucksis and Joshua Trucksis of Tega Cay.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Janet Zeigler.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 17, 2018 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, with a rosary at 6:00 PM, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC, 29464.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Stella Maris Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street, Sullivan’s Island, SC, 29482.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charleston Animal Society.
