Alfred Thomas Ezman entered into eternal rest on October 28th, 2022 at the age of 81. Al was born and raised in the Polish community of Dickson City, Pennsylvania and there it was that he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Marianne Chopko. He received a degree in Electrical Engineering from General Motors Institute, and he and Marianne moved to Youngstown, Ohio where they raised their four children. Al had a long and rewarding career with General Motors, retiring after thirty-eight years as a Superintendent, with many lifelong friends.
One saying that would best describe Al is that "He never met a stranger." Nor would he ever refrain from helping one. His dedication and commitment to his career, colleagues, neighbors and friends was only superseded by that which he gave to his family. His love and support were ever present and unconditional. Al pursued his enthusiasm for golfing, boating, fishing and woodworking in retirement, and also served with the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Charleston, SC. He was a beloved "Grampy" not only to his grandchildren, but to many others, always present to celebrate their successes on and off the playing fields, and more so, to lift them up when things did not go as well. That is what we will cherish and remember the most about this beautiful man, friend, father and grandfather.
Al is survived by three children: Dr. Alfred Ezman (Deneen) of Spartanburg, SC, Dr. Lorianne Ezman (Dr. Gordon Thompson) of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Mr. Brian Ezman (Darlene) of Madison, WI. He also lives on through his nine grandchildren: Rohan and Sawyer Thompson, Alfred, Nikolas, and Charly Ezman, and Jaxson, Rylan, Wyatt, and Emmalyn Ezman.
Al was preceded in death and is gloriously reunited with his "bride" Marianne Ezman and daughter Cheryl Ezman.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Stella Maris Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street, Station 12, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482.
