Alfred Dale Gould, 86, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015. He was born on Sunday, August 5, 1928 in Chicago, IL, a son of the late Alfred Cook Gould and the late Hazel Eckmann Gould. Dale served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. After leaving the service, he was a manager and salesman for Magnavox. He also owned his own business, Sight and Sound. Dale was the owner of IMS, inc. Dale was the founding commander of the American Legion Post 208 in Charleston, SC. He enjoyed sailing, the beach, and spending time with his family. His family remembers him as having a great sense of humor and as a good husband, father and grandfather, and an all-around family man. Besides his parents, Alfred is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Gould and grandson, Ian Gould. He is survived by his loving wife of ten years, Val Lambert-Gould, of Charleston, SC; five sons: Thomas Gould and his wife, Elizabeth, of Kenya; Greg Gould of Johns Island, SC; Patrick Gould and his wife, Colleen, of Naples, FL; Sean Gould of Naples, FL and Andy Lambert and his wife, Marissa, of Charleston, SC; four daughters: Pamela Gould of Hawaii; Cathy Costello and her husband, Edward, of Oklahoma; Amy Rogers of Naples, FL and Kelly Capen and her husband, J.R., of Rock Hill, SC; 15 grandchildren: Zack Gould, Sam Gould, Bill Gould, Garrett Gould, Laney Gould, Sean Dale Gould, Devon Gould, Patrick Costello, Ryan Costello, Anika Rogers, Katerina Rogers, Bella Rogers, Darren Dennis, Mitchell Dennis, Rebecca Capen and Anthony Capen; one sister, Donna Ripper; one brother, Robert J. Gould; and a number of nieces of nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 20, 2015, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on July 20, 2015, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel, with Chaplain Jay Glasgow officiating.
