Albert Gordon Ice

Albert Gordon Ice, 80, of Charleston, SC, was called home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
He was born on January 20, 1938 in Ashfield, MA to the late Lura Richardson Ice and the late Godfrey Ice.
Albert was a 20-year retired Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force, serving two tours in Vietnam.
He was an avid bowler, and earned many trophies. He enjoyed fishing in the Gulf and watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. His family will remember him as a kind, easy-going, uncomplicated pillar of strength.
Besides his parents, Albert is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Iris Jove Ice; two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Hogan and her husband, Matthew, of Charleston, SC; grandson, Ryan Hogan of Charleston, SC; his sister, Nancy Stevens of Enfield, CT and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston, SC, where military honors will be rendered.
