Alan Terence Shao, ll

Alan Terence Shao II, 27 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on January 31, 2023. Born on August 31, 1995 in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of Alan Shao, Sr. and Carol Ann Shao as well as his sisters, Janine Shao and Victoria Benson.

Alan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Charleston in December 2021. He worked in catering and events at the Francis Marion Hotel and enjoyed spending time with his family and dog Dunkin, music, concerts, bowling and theme parks. He will be remembered for his kind heart and unconditional love for others.

A memorial service to honor and remember Alan’s life will be held on Monday, February 6 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of Seacoast Church, located at 750 Long Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. The family will receive friends & family following the service on the second level of Seacoast Church, Mt Pleasant. The burial will be held later that week at Forest Lawn Cemetery located at 8100 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA 23505.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Frances Animal Center where he adopted his dog Dunkin or to

College of Charleston Collegiate Recovery. The McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation has been entrusted with arrangements.
