Alan Paul LaBerge

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Paul LaBerge, who departed this life on April 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 15, 1951, to Florent Charles LaBerge and Yvonne Henriette Barthelemy LaBerge, Alan lived a life defined by service, curiosity, and love. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 27 years, spending most of his career aboard submarines.

Alan is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki Sue LaBerge; his sister, Monique Hutchinson; his brother, Gerard LaBerge; his four children: Aaron Paul LaBerge and wife Michele, John Joseph Paul LaBerge and wife Melissa, Erika Leigh (LaBerge) Wyatt and husband Brent, and Matthew Paul LaBerge; his stepson, Dustin Alan Culbertson; eleven grandchildren: John Douglas Paul LaBerge, Grayson Paul LaBerge, Hanna Grace LaBerge, Anna Lynn LaBerge, Luke Alan Paul LaBerge, Emma Leigh Wyatt, Isabella Leigh Wyatt, Olivia Leigh Wyatt, Madison Paige LaBerge, Brittany English, and Courtney Frost; and five great-grandchildren.

A man of deep Catholic faith, Alan was a devoted member of All Saints Catholic Chapel for more than 40 years. He served his community through the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion, always guided by a quiet sense of duty and devotion.

A lover of music, Alan played bass guitar in a band during his early years in Australia and passed down his passion to his children and grandchildren, always encouraging them to pick up an instrument, sing, or simply listen closely. He was also an avid collector - of books, coins, gems, guitars, precious metals, and seashells - forever curious and always learning.

But more than anything, Alan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His life lit up whenever he was surrounded by his family. His humor, warmth, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek.
