Adele Anderson Rowan (Anderson)

Mrs. Adele Anderson Rowan passed away peacefully at the Hospice Center of Charleston with her 3 daughters by her side Saturday, October 25th, 2014. Twenty-five months to the day, she joined her beloved husband, Vincent 'Bud' Rowan, of 60 years. Adele was the daughter of the late Betty Pommer Anderson and Edward Emile Anderson. A native Charlestonian, Adele found her true calling in life caring for her aging family in her younger years & relished in being surrounded by family - especially her 5 grandchildren & 3 great grands in her later years. Her family remembers her as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Edward Anderson and Raymond Anderson and a sister Margaret 'Margie' Anderson. She is survived by her three daughters and their families, Diane Kathryn Rowan of Mt. Pleasant: Karen Rowan Ball and her husband Rick of Hanahan: Lisa Rowan Anderson and her husband George of Mt. Pleasant; Grandchildren Michael Ball (Sara), Erin Gillis (Rette), Kelli Ball Fitzpatrick (Tom), Zachary and Ashley Anderson; Great grandchildren Bailee Browning Ball and Jaxon Martin Ball and Saylor Rowan Gillis; nephew, Ray Anderson of North Charleston. The family wishes to thank the 3rd floor nursing/aide staff of Roper Mt. Pleasant Hospital for their continual and benevolent medical care and for Hospice Center of Charleston for making the inevitable as peaceful, comforting and compassionate as possible for Adele & her family. Friends and family will gather Thursday, October 30, 2014 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, for a visitation from 1 to 2 pm. The Service will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel with the burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery.
